DEVICE PROFILE // H4M-HACKRF

HACKRF PORTAPACK H4M

The H4M is the compact, field-hardened evolution of the HackRF One. Combined with the Mayhem firmware, it transforms from a lab instrument into a mobile signal laboratory capable of intercepting and interacting with the digital airwaves anywhere on earth.

Mayhem Firmware

The open-source soul of the PortaPack. It turns a raw HackRF into a feature-rich signal analysis terminal with hundreds of built-in apps.

Standalone Field Ops

Eliminate the laptop. Capture, analyze, and replay signals directly from the palm of your hand using the 3.2-inch touchscreen.

Signal Capture & Replay

Record raw I/Q data directly to a MicroSD card. Replay fixed-code signals like legacy garage doors or simple IoT commands with one touch.

Built-in Decoders

Real-time decoding for ADS-B (Aircraft), AIS (Ships), TPMS (Cars), and AFSK (Pager/Data) signals displayed directly on screen.

OPERATIONAL WARNINGS

โ€ข Spectrum Responsibility: The HackRF is a wide-open transmitter. With a PortaPack, you can transmit on almost any frequency from 1MHz to 6GHz. Without proper licensing (Amateur Radio) or a Faraday cage, transmitting is illegal and can interfere with emergency services.

โ€ข The Catch: The HackRF is half-duplex. You cannot listen while you transmit. This means you must time your captures and replays carefully.

โ€ข Battery Management: Large captures and high-gain transmission drain the H4M battery rapidly. Always carry a power bank for extended field ops.
